What is a Family Liaison?
The DCSD Family and Cultural Liaison helps connect families, the school, and the district to create a welcoming and supportive environment. They build strong relationships with multilingual families, ensuring clear communication and providing resources to help parents support their child’s success in school. By working together with families and school staff, the Liaison helps ensure that all students thrive academically and socially.
What kind of assistance does the Liaison provide?
Here is a list of the few things we provide:

Enhance communication between multilingual students, families, schools, and the district.

Provide Interpretation for students, parents, families, school staff, and the district.

Assist families with the application for the Free/Reduced Lunch Program.

Support parents with navigating the district's Parent Portals, My SchoolBucks, Infinite Campus, EngagED, Canvas, and Talking Points.

Assist with New Enrollment, Online Open Enrollment- Express Check-in-Bus Transportation/Smart Tag App.

Collaborate with school staff and administration to support student learning.

Organize and coordinate family engagement at Regional events.

Attend IEP meetings to provide language support for students and parents.

Connect families to Community Resources, including food and clothing banks, clinics, and affordable healthcare.

Share available school programs and resources with students, parents, and families.

Encourage students or parents to schedule an appointment with their teacher, counselor, or administrator.
