November - How & When to Report

Tasks for Lead:

  • Send reminder email to staff about monthly Framework topic: How & When to Report
  • Direct teach and discuss with all students what to report and how to report at your specific school (may be completed by lead, teacher, MH, counselor, teacher, etc.)
    • What information to report: bullying, depression/suicidal ideation, school violence "red alerts" (1. weapon talk, 2. weapon present, 3. stranger in building, 4. propped doors, 5. messages about hurting others, 6. cyberbullying / cyber threats) 
  • Provide lesson to students (may be completed by teacher, announcement, etc.)
    • Elementary: Discussion - Who are three people you can tell "I need help" at school and in your home/community?
      • Post/Distribute Safe2Tell # (1-877-542-7233) or submit a tip online (http://safe2tell.org)
  • Middle: Discussion - Name three ways you can report "I need help"
    • Post/Distribute Safe2Tell # (1-877-542-7233) or submit a tip online (http://safe2tell.org)
      • High: Direct teach and post Text-A-Tip and Safe2Tell numbers and have students put in cell phone (or planner, etc.)

    • Click on the Individual School Links to complete the online Google Survey or hardcopy survey for all 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 12th graders
